How Frequency Affects Xl

Inductive reactance increases as frequency or inductance increases. An ideal inductor passes steady DC after transients settle but increasingly opposes higher-frequency AC.

Real inductors also have winding resistance, core loss, saturation, parasitic capacitance, current limits, and frequency limits.
